The heels are a good four inches, so yeah. Caution must be used when walking.

Are they at all comfortable?

I wouldn't want to go hiking in them, but they're far from the most uncomfortable shoes I've worn. I tend to find that boots are more comfortable than regular heels of comparable height, since they provide a little more stability.
