One aged up correctly, the heir aged up on the car ride over... but her bar still said she was ready to change from YA to Adult. She was already adult. Is it possible you could age her back down using the same process? It sounds like your game is confused as to what model goes with her lifestate. (Probably it has something to do with aging up while in the semi-rabbithole that is a sims car.)

Testingcheatsenabled only works if they're about to age...

I guess I could try to force her to age up with a birthday cake (...does that work with Elders?!) and then if she dies accidentally just quit without saving. Hmmm...
