I found this to be funny as well as depressing. Many of the things about Pete that bother Patrick in this are things that I have thought myself at one point or another, and so they made me laugh. Stuff like the "refreshing for a journal update" part--I just remember hearing that song for the first time and thinking, "Wow, Patrick's voice almost makes that line sound not incredibly stupid." But then other parts, like the ending, made me really sad. I don't know if this combination was intentional or not, but it works very well.

Oh, it was definitely supposed to have a little humor here and there. :) And, yeah. That line? Makes me grit my teeth.

Wow, today is like the day of amazing fic. I am so impressed with this that I'm not entirely sure how to express it. I love how their relationship is unraveling and Patrick seems to recognize it, but even he doesn't realize how quickly. I love how he seems both callous and completely justified. There are lines in this that I found absolutely breath-taking on top of the storyline being amazing. Again, just, wow.
