That was just what I needed before going to bed! So mellow and quiet, and so much love between them. They don't need extravagent declarations of love or passionate kisses, they're just so together and touchy. :D

The alternative to the quiet scene was one where Fai was much more bouncy about his dream, irking Kurogane as a result. So there were headpunches...which led to the interesting revelation that Kurogane and Fai really are CLAMP's version of Whack-A-Mole.

...For these two, I think love at its simplest is just about being there. Kissing/declarations just provide ammunition for teasing/grumping.

Mmmmm so mellow. Just as was said before,a perfect fic to give sweet feelings before bed time. As always, love your post nihon fics. I liked the physicality of Fai lacing up the armor. Nice, intimate, and normal, which I think must be so wonderful for both of them.

Loved this line: "There was snow between them, for an instant, snow and ice and the shadow of a tall tower rising high up into the night sky."

It was very painterly and let the past rise up and be the perfect foil for the wonder of their calm peaceful happy current existence. Well done!

I seem to be trotting out a few of those right now...ah, I think the last bedtime story I ever got read to me was at the age when I wasn't far beyond 'See Spot. See Spot run. Run, Spot, run!' XD Hey, when youre small, such things are fascinating.

Fai's dreams have really changed...and the reason behind that is why he can sit so quietly beside Kurogane now, and lace up the armour he's had so much practice taking off.

I love how you depict them knowing each other so well. Well enough to make the teasing so fond, well enough for them to truly be trusting. I loved the scene when Kurogane ruffled Fai's hair fondly -- to me that was a real symbol for how very intimate they know each other at this point and I loved them being at ease around each other so much. I love to read about them in an establishing relationship. It seems to be a true depiction of what loving someone else means in the end.

Also, I really enjoyed Fai starting to fit into Kurogane's culture and settling down for what seems to be the first time in his life.

And of course it was beautifully written, as always. Aww, I really loved this so, so much... this fiction makes me feel so very at ease with the world at whole.

Wonderful work and really love the Nihon series! Please write more of it soon! :D

As I think I said in a comment above to someobody else - I really think love for these two is just about, as trite as it sounds, being there. They've been through everything else together, all the wonders of the many worlds, and in the end what keeps the wonder alive is the other person they have there to share it with.

Loved it! It was so well written. We know whenever they stop traveling that Fay is going to Nihon with Kurogane, I mean where else is he going to go? xD. Also if it makes you feel better,I haven't seen Inception either xD

well I've heard they show up in xxxHolic but im not sure when in the story line that happens. They also show up in Kobato and thats after tsubasa ends.

Towards the end of what's currently out. They have a 'special' chapter in which Kurogane smiles. A lot ♥, and they're mentioned by reference a few times before that.
