Vash/RueThis is one friendship that had a very potentially disastrous beginning. Rue does not deal well with being judged by others, and with the Twins' situation where so many were being lead to believe things about him, he was entirely on the defense by the time Vash appeared. Had Vash not show the compassion and understanding and willingness to listen that he did, Rue could have very easily come to hate him during this time. Thankfully, Vash pushed all the right buttons, and Rue began to relax around him. Rue was really grateful about this. The entire incident was really upsetting for him, and he tries not to think about it much. However, he's very glad of Vash's friendship ( ... )

Vash/Rue - Vash loev Rue =\ and I feel better about this now that Trigun canon has resolved some issues for me about how Vash FEELS about people. Which is to say HE CAN LOVE THEM, YAY =D
Anyway, Vash has a lot of fun with Rue, he's great to hang out with and have fun with, he can do whatever he wants and Rue doesn't call him dumb or make fun of him >\ Not that Vash really MINDS when that happens, he invites it. But SOMETIMES it's grate to just, dance like a retard and love life. He worries about Rue's son =\ and hopes Rue can leave soon or get some word that he's alright, but in the mean time he's happy to offer a shoulder to lean on. He's also grateful that Rue respects his distances over issues like Knives. He WOULD talk about it if asked, but Vash does't... volunteer information about that kind of stuff, because it's always painful for him. Also Rue gets a ton of points for loving on Tiny!Vash, because Vash knows he needed all the love he could get at that age =\

As if running around butt naked in the dark wasn't bad enough, their conversation when down hill quickly when he tried to suggest he'd make Kaza into a pet for his children. The hair petting was also a what the fuck moment. In short, Kazahaya thinks Nakatsu's batshit crazy.
... This, of course, means they need to hang out more. ^_^
Mika/Rue
Rue is... curious. It was quite a way to get introduced to someone by having him drag a charred body out of the woods. That and the fact that he seemed to show concern over the cinder leaves Rue with oddly mixed messages about how Mika should be perceived. He's wary of him, but is going to withhold any opinions until they've had a chance to actually speak together.
Mika/ShikamaruFrom an annoying pest to someone who can be considered a friend, Shikamaru really had quite a turn around of opinion on Mika. This was probably in part to do with Mika's transformation into a girl. Shikamaru found this event to be quite amusing -- though he didn't appreciate when their ( ... )

You didn't hear this from me, but Kazahaya has a mild crush on Ryuuken, and has had one since Dec 2005.
THAT SAID!
Kazahaya likes Ryuuken a lot. He enjoys being around the man, enjoys working with him and for him at the hospital. He doesn't mind his brusque attitude or his silences. In a way, it's a nice change from overly hyper people or constant teasing. He trusts Ryuuken a lot and feels bad when he puts him into a position of having to help him.
There is a good possibility that Kazahaya will look to Ryuuken more often now that Cal has left the building. He feels that he can probably talk to the man about some of his less personal problems, and he really does just need someone to talk to about things, and Ryuuken has the benefit of understanding more about Kazahaya than most of camp.
Ryuuken/RueThere's really no nice way to say this, Ryuuken hurt Rue a lot last time they spoke. He's been avoiding him since then because he lost his footing in their relationship and doesn't know quite what to do with himself ( ... )

Kazahaya knows who she is, and thinks she's really pretty cute. He likes her and Chizuru and think they make a pretty good couple. That's really about it. He doesn't mind talking to her, but they're definitely on the acquaintance level only.
Tomo/Roxy
As far as Roxy is concerned, Tomo is someone to get into trouble with. She's fun and energetic, and she could upgrade quickly into a good friend. They don't interact too much, which kind of hurts that, but Roxy really thinks she's a lot of fun, so this may change as time goes on.
Tomo/ShikamaruFor his part, Shikamaru endures Tomo. He thinks she's pretty hot, and probably rather bright, but she's incredibly annoying on an on going basis. This... isn't always a bad thing, but it doesn't make him want to be more open or talkative with her, which actually causes him to be even more quiet ( ... )

Dee & Rue, Dee & Shika, Hiro & Roxy are the only relationships I can think of that...interact on a regular basis?

Rue thinks he's hot, and regrets very deeply that he's human, they're at camp, and he has a significant other and a tendency towards monogamy.
That said, Rue is quite fond of him in his own right. He enjoys spending time with him. Dee's really easy to get along with and can almost always bright up Rue's mood. Rue's quite amused by Dee with children, and thinks that the way they top him so hard is adorable.
Otherwise, I don't think much has changed since last time.
Dee/ShikaWhat started out as merely curiosity about chess, and a desire to play against someone has turned into a loose friendship. Shikamaru enjoys spending time with Dee -- especially when they're playing a game -- but he doesn't feel like he needs to talk a lot while doing so. He can be drawn into conversations by Dee, but he's not likely to be the first to broach subjects nor with their conversations ever likely get too deep ( ... )
