Darling, I live in Texas. Which isn't a foolproof excuse... But the closest ice skating rink is about two hours away.
(For what it's worth, my sister's friend from Pennsylvania has insisted that sometime during summer break, we will all go to said ice skating rink and skate, since she's the only one of us that's been. So this little... travesty... may be rectified sometime soon.)
I remember the year I lived in Texas. (First grade it was, I believe?) And there was about a centimeter of snowfall. The schools were closed and everyone panicked. Of course me, being the Mainer that I am, (ohh the grammar is atrocious, but I'm too lazy to fix it properly) immediately had on my boots, snowpants, coat, hat, and mittens and was outside making snow angels in what was quickly becoming slush. XP I remember being horribly shocked when my friend didn't own snow pants. teehee.
