I can barely write with out adding adjectives that would make this post R rated.
However, I'm not one to take bull lightly, and so I will make my case known.

In short, I guess you could say that I was ripped off by Manifest (Melbourne Anime Festival Inc). After paying $200+ and getting a confirmation email, we were then told "sorry, you don't have a ( Read more... )

Avi told me that Henry was sending out invoices and confirmations without even checking that there were enough tables. That's why there is this issue.

I think if it's first come first served then the fact that they send you an invoice should mean that your spot is secure.

An invoice is for goods and services recieved. It sounds like they've done it 'first come first served' in terms of payment.

How are things going now?

It turned out to be a first paid first served, when the wording on their freaking email said that indicated otherwise.

they'll give us the table for $700. i might try and bargain some more or just not bother at all.

That is so misleading! Ugh, so stupid.

Manifest is in shambles I think.

$700 is still $500 more than what's due to you. Have you found someone to share with?

You still going through VCAT or CA?

It's not misleading, it is plain as day lying.

We can FIND people to share with... but i don't really want to pay them more than the $200 I already did. since i had nothing to do with their crappy organisation skills.

I'll go thru CA cuz vcat doesn't seem like the place for this sort of complaint. I always thought VCAT was more for negotiations.
