By all accounts, they had made excellent time. It hadn't taken as long as it should have for Suoh and Isao to find themselves sneaking past the enemy border(  with a dead man in tow... )

suoh, august, isao

Isao's nose wrinkled, thinking that the thing tickling his cheek was another of those gods-forsaken bugs that loved this habitat so much. He batted it away, and dimly realized that it was a hand, not some foul crawling thing with 7 or 8 legs. He opened one blue eye a crack to see Suoh looking down at him. That woke him up quickly enough.

"Time t'go?" he asked groggily, sitting up and blinking into the bloody sunset light. The sky looked as thought it were illuminated from behind and made of stained glass. It was beautiful, and oddly fitting. He collected his things, secured his sword on his back, and yawned fit to crack his jawbone.

"Let's get this over with."

"Oh my, yes," had been the quiet response to the blond's question, Suoh drew back with a well concealed look of distaste. He would let Isao get away with touching him in such a fashion, if only because the imminent slaughter was such a wonderful prospect to look forward to. He stood, travelstained robes and cloak rippling like a living thing about him. There was no need to collect his things; he hadn't slept but once or twice on this little trip and didn't disarm himself on the rare occasion that he did.

He stepped out of the shadows that had concealed them, and the dimming light from the sunset painted him red. Suoh's hands disappeared into his sleeves as he fingered matching scrolls before securing them away in their hiding places once more. Stepping over to grab the rope attached to the bodybag, he offered it for Isao to drag along this time.

The words that he spoke next were of a chillingly nonchalant tone, "We shall have to burn that village to the ground to get the swamp rats to pay attention, you know."

Isao took the rope without question, settling it on his shoulder and glancing sidelong at Suoh. He started to walk, disgusted by the wet slurping noises the ground made around his feet, but after a few paces getting the hang of moving quietly through the muck once more, "What do you mean?" he asked in a low voice. The Kazekage hadn't said anything about burning the village. It wasn't out of the question, of course. Kumo had openly declared war upon Suna. They had committed a heinous and cowardly act of malice against his people. But to burn some simple village seemed unnecessary. Part of it, perhaps.

Suoh made a low sound as he looked at his companion with open disbelief. It was completely calculated, of course. He had known the fool wouldn't want a bloodbath, Isao was too weak-minded to be a true predator. Even so, there was no way he would be allowed to let something silly like 'morality' get in the way.

"They need to die," he explained with a surprising bluntness, eyes narrowing. They couldn't be taken seriously if they just dropped a body off and did nothing else, and he couldn't be denied blood. "Why would you show mercy to such worthless things?"
