This is my fifth year doing Blogathon. Wow. :) I wasn't aware of Blogathon the year I started blogging, but I jumped on it soon as I heard.

I believe that we, as a species, are inherently good. I believe that it is in us to do amazing things. I believe that what we call evil is a learned behavior.

I actually believe just the opposite, that is, that humans in their natural state are inherently selfish, mean, predatory... It's how we got to the top of the food chain. But I also believe that we have evolved intellectually to the point where we can understand the difference between right and wrong, and it is then that we must make that choice. As bad as we can be, we have the capacity to be just as good if we make the effort.

So it comes down to the same result, really, just a different path. :)

And I believe, as I tell Elayna repeatedly, that people should do whatever they can, whenever they can

I agree. Our son, Josh, just saw Sicko and he said that was one of the things the Michael Moore said that he liked. Moore doesn't think we can afford universal health care, but if everyone would just help out those with a need, we could get through.

...and, yes, I know that is pie in the sky, but it's a really nice thought.

I wish I could sponsor you, but we have been going through some very rough times. Perhaps next year.
