[c-commentlog?] YOU ASKED FOR IT. heavyweaponsbot April 25 2010, 06:21:44 UTC
[You hear that Jak? Is that the sound of the theme to Jaws? No. That's silence. The complete silence of this random hallway you happen to be in.

... As you're being watched. Very closely. Just come a little closer.]

[It is silent, and Jak's got a bag slung over one shoulder, full of medical supplies and boxes of rice, fish, meat and vegetables from the sushi bears. This run was successful, and now he just needs to go back to his room, sort out what is whose, and deliver them around the ship.

He has no idea he's being watched.]

[He waits. Standing perfectly still until the target is close enough. It looks distracted. Or at least... unwary.

Without warning, he charges out from what small amount of concealment he found, feet pounding the floor, and his head down. He runs straight for Jak, as if intending to trample him where he stands.]

[HOLY SHIT IT'S A KG TANK HEADED STRAIGHT FOR HIM.

Jak drops his bag of tricks and flattens himself against the wall, whirling around, ready for a fight.

Whether he could even stand a chance in that fight was another thing entirely.]

[The "tank" roars at him, bearing down on him as quickly as a multi-ton metal biped can run... until he passes his intended victim. Ironhide skids slightly, turning to face the organic with a snarl.

He sets himself, one hand braced against the ground. There's no shred of recognition in is optics, only the need to fight. Though, the shiny red thing in his helm probably has something to do with that.

He charges again, though slower, swinging a fist.]

[That thing ... that gem. It looks like the one embedded in Daxter.

Jak had intended on running, but now he felt like he needed to stay. That thing had infected his best friend, and now it was infecting others; now Jak couldn't let it go.

Curling in on himself slightly, he grunts, then snarls as the Dark Eco bursts free. His skin is ashen, gnarled horns twisting from gray hair, pitch black eyes watching the charging robot as razor-sharp claws click together.

Bolts of lurid purple Dark Eco snap and crackle in the air around him.]

[This actually makes him pause for a moment, expression darkening as... he tries to figure out what just happened. His opponent is different. But still organic. Still weak.

He slows his approach, stopping a few yards away to pace in front of the organic, snarling like an animal. He hesitates a moment longer before launching himself forward, driving a fist toward the enemy's midsection.]

[Jak snarls back, baring sharp teeth. Damn right you're intimidated.

The movement is sudden and fast, and the fist lands squarely against Jak's torso. Gasping as pain shudders up his ribcage, he growls and grabs the arm, digging his claws in and tearing with them, trying to sever lines and peel back metal.]

[Having his arm grabbed isn't what he expected. Organics don't do that. Decepticons did...

Decepticon.

He feels the claws tearing at his arm, working into the seams between plating, and roars. He flings his arm sideways, and brings the other hand down, attempting to squash the pest.]

[It takes a moment, but with such a good close-up view of his assailant's face, Jak finally realizes who he's fighting.

Ironhide.

And this is not like the Ironhide he knew. That gem was definitely controlling him.

Hissing as the arm is swung around, Jak lets go and darts for the gap between Ironhide's legs, aiming for his back. It worked for Daxter, let's hope it works here.]

Insect!

[His voice is lower, grating as if from disuse. The word is uttered with such disdain, it's practically tangible. He's fully prepared to smash the annoyance when, suddenly, it's gone.

He's slow to turn around, his size, bad hip, and previous brawls telling on him. He's tiring.]

[Perfect.

Jak doesn't respond to the taunt, leaping up and digging in his claws as he scrabbles up the Autobot's back. He should be out of reach now. He hopes.

But what now?]

[Lucky for his attacker, his spinal armor forms almost a ladder-like structure, easy access up to massive shoulders.

Ironhide, however, snarls, twisting wildly to impede progress. He knocks a shoulder into the wall, then, backs toward it. Scrape off the enemy, crush him against the wall.]

[The instinct of the Dark Eco kicks in, and Jak snarls as the electrical bolts around him double in intensity, skittering down his arms and lashing out across Ironhide's back as Jak claws his way up to those shoulders.

The slam of Ironhide's shoulder against the wall almost knocks him off, but he holds on tight and growls.]

[He jerks, the pain and intensity startling him. It's his back--it's not his chest, his all-important chest, and he's more surprised than injured.

All the same, it sends him staggering away from the wall. He reaches back instead, to grab at the offending organic.]

[Of course. It had hurt the Major too, back when Jak had lost control and she'd restrained him. Dark Eco damaged them somehow, even if just a little.

Clawing his way to Ironhide's shoulders, Jak sends another pulse of Dark Eco directly through him to keep him distracted while he reaches around for that gem on Ironhide's forehead.]
