[Seems like everyone needs to clear their throats tonight. Herz does it before he speaks, not realizing he's mirroring something Jak did, just knowing he needs to to speak.]
Jak, uh...
...are--a-a---are--are you in your--your room? Right now?
[The Major's post bothered him. The pieces weren't fitting into place. Oh, the sequence of events that led up to Jak's transformation and his actions afterward came as no surprise, but it was the rest of what she said that drove him to respond to Jak. He goes straight to the point, not even touching on the issue of Jak's kills. That might have said something about how much he wants an answer.]
She mentioned that the ones in charge of your conditioning were Praxis - Baron Praxis, I assume - and someone named Erol. Was that part correct as well? There were no others at the helm?
[Phoenix shakes his head, though Jak cannot see it, but the frustration should be plainly evident.]
That doesn't make any sense. The Dark Warrior Program was top secret. Not even I knew about it until Skyheed informed me. How did people in Haven, of all places, get their hands on the equipment? There had to have been someone else involved.
[But who? And why? Was this part of Skyheed's plans, a part that Skyheed had never told him about? Or was there a renegade from the program? Phoenix frowns.]
...How odd that I seem to be the only one aside from yourself and those in charge of that horrible project that already knew that.
[Sigh.]
It really is a shame that you never experienced that extra year of development before I met you, Jak. You were so much more comfortable back in Kras.
[He's not lying, either. Jak was pretty level during the racing tourney, and it definitely wasn't unheard of for him to throw around threats on the track regarding his darker self. He doubts this Jak would ever mention the monster he turns into unless he absolutely had to.]
That would depend on one's definition of "settling." You did not live there, at least not as long as I knew you and not outside your time in the races, but you were certainly more...settled.
You were never particularly comfortable with discussing this, per se, but I knew about it. You spoke of it.
[Chuckle.]
You made some very interesting threats involving your personal demon during races now and then.
[Mainly because the idea of gaining any kind of control over Dark Eco is unthinkable to most. And besides, there's nothing to be gained from rehashing the past and bringing up old memories of torture and experimentation.]

It's never been public knowledge.
[More awkward pause.]
Would you uh ... I mean, we should talk. Maybe.

[Mirroring here.]
Verily then. Yes. We likely should. At your convenience.

[And sure enough he does, knocking on her door a few minutes later.]

The only ones I met.
[There's a good chance that Veger knew about the experiments too, but Jak hasn't pieced that together.]

When exactly were you inducted into the program?

[Is he being short? Yes, he is. All he knows is what it's like to be on the other side of the chair.]

[And here Jak assumed he'd eventually settle down in Haven with his friends.]
