Mirrored from Words, words, words, art..

The first time I had Nutella was in 1993. My mom’s best friend had moved to Australia a few years earlier and super expensive trans-atlantic phone calls once a year and letters written in cramped writing on both sides of onion skin paper and sent airmail just weren’t enough. Yeah, code wonkiness for me too, but I was able to fish out the rest of the entry. :) I've been a big Nutella fan since I took a trip to Germany around 1996. So I'm glad it's become easier to find around here, along with Ritter Sport and Milka chocolate. :) No hazelnut allergies for us, thankfully, but the Jif sounds good too so I'll keep an eye out for that!

And yes, the marketing of Nutella as somehow healthy even garnered them a class-action lawsuit not too long ago, as youmay have heard. But I tend to think that anyone who thinks a cream made with chocolate and sugar is HEALTHY is kind of an idiot. :)

When I discovered Nutella (in middle school from a friend who'd just moved to the US), my friends thought it was crazy but also crazy awesome. You can just put chocolate on bread and eat it? Like, for real? That's like eating dessert twice!

I'm making a note of the Jif To-Go thing. I've got a couple recipes that use Nutella and a friend with a nut allergy.
