[Audio/Action]
[Good morning, Luceti.

Do you like rock music? If you do, great. If you don't, too bad.

After finding out about Derek's departure from Luceti, Ginia heads over to Cloud Nine. No, she doesn't care if there may be people there, she'll be claiming the piano for herself and running through all the rock songs she knows. Some Bon Jovi, Read more... )

[By Living on a Prayer's first chorus, you might hear someone softly singing along over the journal, Ginia. Ororo's got a decent voice: a smooth, almost sultry alto and it's not unpleasant to listen to.]

[A very nice voice. Ginia smiles on her end as she hears someone singing along, glad it's someone who recognizes the song, who can sing, and a female too. In some odd way, Ginia wonders if this is maybe one way to draw any rock fans out in Luceti out of the woodwork.

Once she finishes her song, she takes a moment to write out a message.]

Your singing is beautiful.

[... Oh, was it recording? There is a brief pause before Ororo speaks up, and she's a little embarrassed when she does. Oh.]

I... thank you. I apologize, I hadn't realized the journal was recording.

It happens now and then, but there's nothing to apologize for. I'm glad someone else recognizes the song too.

[Piano! Aubrey recognizes literally none of these songs he can appreciate good music when he hears it, even if it is a couple hundred years ahead of his time.

He's finally figured out how to work these journals too. Luceti, beware.]

Wonderful tunes!

[Nice to know that some music can be appreciated across the centuries. Ginia finishes up her latest song and glances at the journal as some writing comes in.]

I'm glad you enjoy them.

[Jack smiles to himself as the response comes back. Hazzah! He's doing it right. Enthusiastic scribbling back and --]

They're very entertaining, nothing like I've ever heard!

If you don't mind the inquiry, who are their composers?

Not at all. The last song I played was "Movin' Out" by Billy Joel. Before that was "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John.

[Roxas is being the best detective ever. Naoto would be proud. Today he's finding himself checking out Cloud Nine. He hasn't been inside yet, and he's not sure what to expect, but when he enters the building and hears the piano music he's pleasantly surprised. It's...different than the other type of piano he's heard before, and so he approaches Ginia at the bench. Don't mind him just hanging out a little ways away and watching her.]

...definitely not the classics, is it?

[Ginia glances over as she sees someone approaching out of the corner of her eye, but continues playing. Once she's finished, she grabs her notepad and pen and turns on the bench to address his question.]

The opposite end of the spectrum, some might say.

[Well since she doesn't seem to mind a spectator, Roxas will move closer to read that note.]

Sounds like it. I'm not too familiar with music, but I've been studying up on it a little bit in the library. So what is this?

The general genre is called rock, but from there it can be broken down further. Soft rock, hard rock, metal, jazz rock, pop rock, it's a genre hard to pin down.

[She laughs quietly, giving a small shake of her head as she remembers a conversation with Derek that feels like it happened far too long ago.]

A friend and I once tried to create a list of songs that defined or provided examples of what rock music was. We couldn't do it. Too many songs.

[After she's been at the piano for awhile, Jack decides to stop manning the bar, as he often does when she plays, and heads on over with a martini in hand.]

I thought you might be able to use one of these.

[He didn't think much of Derek, personally, but ask him about any other guy in Luceti and he'd say more or less the same.]

[The piano playing is doing wonders for her mood and at this point she's worked through four of the five stages of grief out. When Jack approaches with a martini, her smile is a bit more sincere as she takes the drink.]

[Of course she can't talk and play at the same time, for obvious reasons. So he ends up leaning against the side of the piano, his back to her, enjoying the tune. Good times.]

[Ginia sips slowly at the martini. It's one of those days, a drink is needed and appreciated.]

Thanks. I needed that.

[You know what, Ginia? You're providing Kairi with a pretty decent soundtrack while she's busy cleaning up around KH house. She pauses to listen for a little longer as she's folding some of the laundry up. When Ginia pauses to change songs, Kairi jots down a brief message.]

This is definitely making the chores easier to finish. Thanks for the entertainment.

[Music is good for doing any type of chore. Ginia's settled down a little as she finishes her latest song, glancing at the message as it appears. She pulls the journal and her pen close and quickly writes a response back.]

No problem. Glad I could help out.

I have a feeling I'm not the only one. You're pretty good at it. Where did you learn all of those?

When I was younger, memorizing sheet music. As I got older and better at the piano, carefully listening and piecing things together.
