I would much rather be writing. Or doing crafty things. But, alas, homework must be done. So here I sit, with my lovely cup of Chocoloco tea and work on my css.
We had seriously been considering a run across the border today to do some shopping... until it hit me last week that Monday was Thanksgiving for you guys. Since we're coming up there to basically go grocery shopping, we figured discretion was the better part of not dealing with tons of other shoppers... so, now we have our sights set on next Saturday, unless something comes up.
We tend to go over to Aldergrove and Langley township areas. The border crossing is decent sized but not as well used and pretty much every place we could possibly want to shop or eat is there. Just so much less hassle than crossing over closer to Vancouver, especially for these day trips. We've also really enjoy hiking around Campbell Valley Regional Park and Aldergrove Regional Park.
It's great you're enjoying doing homework and you love where you live AND you have tomorrow off!
Of course I had to count all the Chrome fanfic tabs I have open and it's 27! Too bad I keep reading old favorites as comfort fic because, well, US politics.
Well, I am not grateful for ell-jay gobbling my comment last night. Sigh.
But I'm thrilled to hear that you have so many wonderful things happening in your life. And, naturally, I so related to the 27 open tabs of fanfic! Because of my blindness, I keep a whole lot of tabs open in three browsers so I have them easily accessible (and I memorize their order). Makes jumping back and forth easier.
I'm using my fave by-the-lake icon to indicate that I'm thankful for living in TO and the privilege of having had a lakeside experience for 7 years. I still remember the towering trees in Vancouver and the gorgeous coastline, but I'll be content with my occasional lake exposure.
Ahh, LJ does sometimes do that thing where it eats our tasty, tasty words. Strange, that.
LOL! The 27 open tabs thing is something all fic readers can related to, I think. I'm also grateful that AO3 has a reading history function in case my browser crashes (and oh, it does!) so as long as I was logged in, I have a record of what I was looking at so I can go and find the fic again.
MMm, the lake - how lovely. I'm happy here; BC, and Vancouver specifically have won my heart. But I'm glad that you love your home equally.

Do you just pop up into Surrey/White Rock? I suppose it's a bit far to come all the way into Vancouver.

Depends if you are reading on FF.net or AO3. The ads will kill you every time.
