Title: no one ever said it would be this hard
Author: throughadoor
Rating: R
Pairing: Remus/Sirius
Summary: Remus Lupin and the Order of the Phoenix
Notes: Pre-HBP canon, but it looks like most everything made it through without getting jossed too badly. My notes say that lisew and circusgirl did beta duty. This is the first Remus/Sirius story I ever wrote solo, originally ( Read more... )

I just want to say that this has been one of my favorites since... I don't even remember. Maybe since you posted it, I don't know. I've read it a dozen times at least, and for some reason, though I like some of your later things better, it always goes on a list of my all time faves.

Definitely a classic.

hey, thank you so much! now that i've written more in this fandom, there are probably a lot of things i would do differently, but i still have a soft spot for this story, i admit.

Several hours passed, and Remus raised his many-times emptied goblet shakily and said, "Remember that time, in fourth year --"

I just teared right up there. Just the thoguht that there was no longer anyone who could remember with him was so devastating.

Somebody had to keep living. Somebody had to go on. Somebody had to remember. Somebody had to put the house in order. Somebody had to behead Kreacher. Somebody had to look after Harry.

Through the crying had to laugh here. Yes someone needs to behead Kreacher. lol

Very beautiful story.

Aw, I'm going to get all nostalgic and stuff now.

This was the first Harry Potter fic, R/S fic, and slashfic I ever read and I loved it. I still do, of course. It was the perfect introduction to the world of slashfic, since it easily inserted into OotP canon, and made the transition much easier for me. Aah, I'm not making any sense at this point. Bottom line: this story is fantastic.

i read this a long, long time ago and i'm pretty sure i never told you how unbelievable it is. it just makes me feel so much better about ootp and remus and sirius in general.

and the end! remus and dumbledore, and the wake.

Remus stood up, under a weight that he couldn't possibly fathom.

Remus stood up.

and this part. i just love, like you said in your commentary, declarative action endings. this piece is so incredibly amazing (along with everything else you have up at obsessive tendencies, which i have all read, multiple times).
