It's just not a happy pairing in many ways, no. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Beautiful, solid writing. An absolutely heartbreaking Remus, and damn, have you got a handhold on this kind of form. Just amazing!

Perhaps it was not a good idea for me to start reading this late at night after I'd just finished listening to the end of my PoA book on tape, but after the first section, when Remus sees the Dark Mark - I just started sobbing. God. The what-ifs always do that to me. Their love is....it's so powerful, even then, when it's bad...and....right, articulation has failed me.

The Anniversary section reminded me very much of Charles and Erik. I could see Remus and Sirius being that - without the trying to destroy the world bit by whoever was supposed to be Erik.

By the time I got to the Reunion section, there were fresh tears, but bittersweet, good tears. Oh, if onlyAnd good lord, Anticlimax isn't even a what-if in my mind. It's the what-should-have-been. It's the lie I tell myself when I read any Sirius story after OotP - don't think about that damned book, just tell yourself this was the way it happened....You're written it so brilliantly ( ... )

Yes, the first section was meant to be rough. Sirius would do anything for Remus (at least in that situation). This is not really a good thing, and yet ...

And, yes. The Anniversary section was definately the "Remus and Sirius as Charles and Erik, only without destroying the world" section. Although I think their reasons for splitting up in the past probably had much less to do with politics and than with both being stubborn, stubborn people.

And I wish it had gone that way, too, although there's somewhat less drama that way. But ... oh, Sirius.

oh ouch ouch ouch wow. there's so much i love in this. i'm normally really not a fan of aus, but here, ouch. each ficlet is a little mystery puzzle... trying to figure out what the deviation from canon is, and you have picked excellent ones... eaten!severus, werewolfed!sirius, parent!sirius, wolfbaned!remus, thwarted!kreacher... all such pivotal things, and then you show their logical consequences, and it's all so economically and hurtfully true. and i must say, you have a really keen ear for dialogue. that always impresses me when done well, beause i suck at it myself. bravo.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it, and particularly that the dialogue worked well for you.
