Brütal Legend is fucking awesome. It is completely metal. It is an obscene visual spectacle: like taking every metal album cover, but art direction making it look like it was made by Pixar. The animation is awesome, the voice acting is great (Jack Black is actually great in this), the action is extremely bloody. MAN. Awesome

I watched a recording of the AV show from the CtS tour last night. Man we had a great standing spot at the last Mastodon show we were at! Have you ever been to the Sound Academy? Looks like it should be an excellent venue.

I wonder what kind of setlist we'll see?

Yeah, I loved that spot! I've seen a few concerts up close like that (a few Mastodon concerts even!) and it can't be beat.

Sound Academy is not bad. It's a little big for my tastes, so I don't think we'll have as great a standing spot, and since I have an injured foot, I'm not going to be too aggressive in pushing myself through a crowd to get to the front. Last time I was there, I set up shop beside a support pole so that I couldn't be moved from where I was standing.

I have no idea about the setlist. Since I've seen the long tunes from Crack the Sky in person already, I'd appreciate their omission in favour of some tighter cuts from that album and possibly some heavy tunes from previous albums. Specifically, we did not get nearly enough Remission at the CtS tour, so I'd love to see 2 or 3 tracks from that.
