I pretty much think that the reasons women are less interested in getting married and having kids in Japan can be summed up by this comment by the Japanese Health Minister (Male):

Oh dear...!

Well, give it a few decades, and one way or another the problem'll resolve itself... it's just that at the moment, that resolution appears to be heading in the general direction of dying out. *shrug*

On the other hand, there's a girl out here from Tokyo who has seven siblings back home in Japan. (And her family's not that well off... gah. I can't imagine doing what her dad's done to support their family for the last two decades!)

And they are Mormon... that often does affect things like that. *twitch*

most ppl i know have only 1 sibling, if any
though those siblings ALWAYS tend to be cute younger brothers who are like 2 years older than me :):) so 7 would be nice ;)
