This is a somewhat recent Family Guy episode clip which clearly shows the recent controversy revolved around the war in Iraq and Osama Bin Laden. I understand what you mean. Much like Family Guy , South Prak does the same thing. South Park and Family Guy both take very serious cultural events and make fun of them. They are not just making fun of how wrapped up in events but they are also informing us what is going on. All though the shows might be in good humor they often hide a very serious message in the jokes. Just as your clip has shown they these satirical cartoons point out such important issues like the Iraq war.

That video is really funny but you have a good point. i know i dont know what's going on in Iraq and its really easy to almost make fun of it. It kind of states to me that we're bored of being over in Iraq and we don't see a reason to be over there anymore. by showing the terriorists laughing and makinf fun of 9/11, the writer of the video is trying to use what the terrorists use, as in videos, to get his point across. i think its very amusing, but also very interesting in the way that we can put humor into anything and laugh, even if its not right.

Thie comment is merly my reply to your comment,it is irrelavent to your blog. ---The arguement that you are bringing up is what i was argueing also. People forfeit their identities by conforming to those around them for a social norm. The ironic part is that people created net speak and black talk (Ebonics) to differentiate themselves from the norm, and those who were in social power used their creative uniqueness to replace an old norm with a new one. They have to power and influence to do so because they were to social ideals that people mimicked and copied. Doesn't a person first need someone to copy in order to lose their identity? The fact of the matter is that, it is not what new opportunities are born in society, like net speak and black talk, but if people will be able to continue to think critically in order to keep their individuality.
