I was hesitating between very good and excellent but decided that that it is just a tiny bit short of the brilliance of the best of the episodes
( ... )
Could you imagine the drama if Park were to die? Not only the repercussions for Rush being a git, but Greer and Volker... and not to mention that she was beloved by the rest of the crew. It probably would have driven a wedge back into a crew that was slowly coming together.
I can imagine Park being blind for a few episodes could provide some dramatic kick, too.
I also loved the crew's dismissal of Telford's stab at power and Homeworld Command.
HOLY OMG PARK. That's kind of what was going through my head the past few 20 minutes or so of the episode. I couldn't really focus/think about anyone else because I was so freaked out about her.
I'll have to re-watch, because I was so horrified that my brain wasn't soaking up other scenes in the episode. :(
She better be okay! Especially since Rush told her she would be. She was so, so scared, and he just...told her she'd be fine.
She better be, Rush. I love you, but that did annoy me a bit. >__<
Also, I'm rather enjoying the drones when they're not giving me a heart attack. To be honest? I'd probably be enjoying this two-part piece a LOT better if I knew that we had something else to see afterward, you know? For now it's just like "Well, that was cool and awesome, but MORE PLEASE?"
:(
Okay, for cool parts? I do sort of remember Varro being badass and shooting down that drone when James ran outside. Bad. Ass.
While I am no fan of Rush, I think he did the best thing under the circumstances with regard to Park. There was no way he or Eli could have helped her. He tried to give her a survival strategy and lessen her anxiety.
I had a bad feeling the moment Park volunteered I dunno why.
When Mallozzi said that main characters might die, I honestly thought that they might pull the trigger on Park and suck her out of the top of the dome.
Favorite quote? "We dialed Pittsburgh." Hee. And I loved all of the slightly misspelled street signs. "ATAK!" "Markit." It was all very phonetic.
I bet we would have found the civilization behind the drones if we'd had a third season. But alas. This is me, gnashing teeth and wailing, etc.
Also, Varro. <3. <3. <3. I hope that Blood and Chrome gets picked up so we can have more badass Mike Dopud. That man is so awesome at being badass in black leather. It's like a magic special talent of his or something.
Favorite scene: Terminator Young shooting the crap out of the drone! Woohoo!
Favorite quote: "Who am I? Captain Kirk?"
Loved the bit with the dry cleaner, and Morrison the whiner, and badass James and Varro, and Brody and Volker go "yay" at the end, and the botulism bit...
And I'm hugging Lisa right now. Loved Greer's confidence in her, and him taking off like a rocket when he heard she was hurt. And Volker's reaction to that. Brilliant.
And this is me bawling like a baby because there's only one ep left...
