I vaguely recall a story in which Sheppard and team are captured by people who imprison them in a room in some kind of abandoned Ancient facility (I think) and Rodney is taken away by himself for a while. When he comes back to the team he helps them escape, but doesn't follow the others through the Stargate. I think he tells John not to send anyone after him who has the Ancient gene. When Rodney is rescued, he's found actually bolted into some kind of cobbled-together Ancient control chair.
