Characters: Sheppard. Keller, any others needed. Request: Keller's insights, perceptions of Sheppard treating him off-world or during an examination, preferably trying to keep him conscious or awake. Just don't think there are enough Keller POVS interacting with John. Do not want: Character death.

Doctors make the worst patients. Jennifer Keller had always believed that was true -- she’d had to treat a few other doctors in her career and they’d all been awful patients. But that was before she’d met John Sheppard. He had to win the award for the worst patient ever.
He wasn’t rude…just the opposite, usually. Easy-going -- on the outside at least -- charming, and friendly. But that was part of what made him so hard to deal with. The second she tried to tell him he’d have to stay in the infirmary, he’d start trying to bargain with her:
“Just give me some aspirin and I’m good.”
“Look, doc, you’re busy already. How ‘bout I just check in every couple of hours instead?”
“I’ll stay in my office and do paperwork.”
He only used that last one when he was really desperate. She’d gotten better at finding a compromise that worked for both of them, though:
“Sorry, Colonel, but I want you here for the next 24-48 hours. But, I know you have a lot of paperwork to catch up on, so I’ll have someone bring your laptop.”(The disgusted

I forgot to post the rating in the comment's subject... *blushes* It's PG. If a friendly neighborhood mod has any way of editing, it would be much appreciated. :)

Oh, this was awesome! The insights were spot-on. John isn't reckless, won't hide an injury, but the whole "he's a distant second" when anyone else is hurt is really dead-on. I love the compromises that Jenifer has to battle with, but the best part was she asked where the knife was that had injured him and his reply was “I had to return it to the owner.” Perfect!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. :)
I've never pictured Sheppard as being reckless, even if a lot of other people probably would accuse him of it. He just doesn't think of himself when other people are in danger.
I'm glad you liked Sheppard's comment about that knife too, lol.

That was excellent :D I loved all the insight into Sheppard, that he doesn't dismiss his injuries just to be dismissing them, but because others always come first for him.
