Oh, what a lovely twist. What a choice Richard had to make. Nicely done.

Thank you. Twists are hard in these but I'm glad I made one work.

This was so moving. I think if you hadn't have told me that the doctors nearly had a cure, I might have cried and been really miserable! But, because there's hope, I actually feel that though this is sad, and emotively written, that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Sheppard. I can't bear to see Sheppard permanently hurt or incapacitated because it hurts me too much! LOL! So bravo on such a moving and compelling story. I loved Woolsey here too. Well done! :)

Thank you so much. I was worried if I could carry the emotion needed in such a short piece. It was a requirement that the reader understood a cure was being made so we knew John would be saved while still having what happened to him still be very tragic. And what Richard had been forced to do be as horrid to him.

I can't stand permanent injury or afflictions either.

Wow! This was great. Congrats on taking first place, too! I love reading this from Woolsey's point of view, knowing something happened to John but not getting it until the last few lines. A great take on leadership, and the decisions you have to live with.

Thank you. I wanted what Richard has to do rattle and shake him up. To see the results of his choice everyday like that...well. I'm glad it worked.

This was really good... a lot of story in a few words. Great Woolsey POV.

Thank you it was tricky, but I wanted Woolsey to be really shaken and forced to see the results of choice like this.
