I liked this a lot - Ronon's fierceness & protectiveness, Rodney's certainty that Sheppard will come. And the last couple lines are great; that's a killer ending. :)

I'm impressed with the amount of backstory you've been able to get into such a short story without the exposition being too obvious. Also your outsider character is a well-drawn character in her own right, which I appreciate. Good last line, too.
