I know the story. Weir convinced/bullied Kate Heightmeyer and Peter Grodin to enter a transporter with her. It was disgusting, she had this wild ascension obsession and dragged the other two on unwillingly. Weir survived, and still felt justified . It feels like a Keira Marcos story. Perhaps an evil author day story? Or a Jilly James, or Ladyholder, as the previous commenter suggested?
