So, I got bit by a challenge on the Whump thread on GW.

The Challenge:
Sheppard writes a letter while he is held prisoner. What does he say? Who does he send it to?
(short, one shot)

I thought this would be an interesting one shot challenge to write, and it definitely bit my muse, so I wrote one. ;)

Not really a whump story, more of a ( Read more... )

A unique concept for two reasons.......first of all, I don't believe he is the letter writing type; succinct emails at best........Second, doubt that if he were prisoner they would be interested in providing this type of service let alone forwarding it on to whoever cares.....
BUT all that aside, this is terrific.......
I particularly love how he has compartmentalized it all, but that would be Sheppard wouldn't it??

Thank you................

thanks for sharing. It would have been nice to see Shep open up a little about his feelings for his team. They just seemed to have an unspoken bond between them.

oh definitely. We did have the one scene in Sateda with Teyla which I loved, but more would've been cool too. :)

the tight bond was definitely unspoken but strong. :)

Things John would say if he was a talking kind of person....but he would write if he truly felt he was not going to see them again.........now the interesting thing to see would be how he reacts when he realizes he survived and they read the letter.......

Great job

yeah, he's definitely not the talking type. It's one of the reasons I took on the challenge, to see if I could write something that rang "true John Sheppard" to me in a scenario that is a lot outside his comfort zone.

I think he'd be uncomfortable to say the least if he survived and knew they'd read the letter.

Thank you!

Interesting - feelings known, but unspoken for such a long time - kind of made me teary (must have been my beer ;) )

He is a man of few words, but it's all written in his face/eyes.

I agree with Spikespet7 - it would be interesting to see his reaction to them knowing about the letter.

oh yeah for sure. Uncomfortable to say the least. It was an interesting and different challenge for me so I decided to take it on and see what happened. ;)
