I ended up posting the story as it is in my LJ. I think for now I'm just going to move on, I already re-wrote the ending five or six times and this one still sounds the best. :)

Ah, the old Aliens-made-them-do-it :). Very nice. I hope they aren't too upset by the trashed room. It'd be a shame if they'd gone through all that, passed the test and then found themselves out on their ears anyway for desecrating the sacred tackiness, or something *g*.

I loved the added twist of the blindness/deafness, how it made John dependant on Rodney and also how they still managed to communicate so well. What's more, they seem to have fulfiled the ritual (which was very hot, btw) seemingly without realising that's what they were doing...despite the big giant bed! Only them ;).

Ooh, I liked this concept a lot. Very interesting take on aliens made them do it. I liked that the priestess quickly agreed to the choice. I bet she's a closet McShep fan and she was watching... ^_^
