Aw, burning books makes me sad, but John made the right choice. People over books every time, for sure.

Perfect. I love the bickering, the back and forth between the two characters. And John would feel that the books were expendable - particularly if it saved Rodney's (or any of his team's) life (lives). And I really loved the end. Rodney upset that John burned the books (not realizing how bad off he was) and John just glad that the act was able to buy them enough time. But What I really loved was this

"We won't miss them," Sheppard stated, then quietly added, "You saw potential in those books. I see it someplace else."

Rodney snorted softly, not entirely understanding.

Well Rodney might not get it (for a genius he can be really slow sometimes) but we did. Well done.

Ooh! I loved this. I can't believe how painful it was to read about the books being burnt--so effective! Really, really nicely done.
