This is a lovely bit of fable-weaving in your wonderfully-realized universe.
*sighs happily*

The little touches, like Ronon hearing "Columbian" for "American". Ronon seeing Sumner, Sheppard's most important (lost) person up until that point, is very telling. Though I'd dearly love to know what Sumner said in that dream.

Once again, great work!

I'm really glad you liked it!

//The little touches, like Ronon hearing "Columbian" for "American".//

I kind of figure, since I'm writing under the Stargate-lingua-franca hypothesis, that the Canadians would have insisted on a different set of adjectives for the continent and the country. ^_^

(Besides, it nearly was the accepted short name -- viz. "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean.")

//Ronon seeing Sumner,//

I'm really glad you liked that -- it just sort of arrived over a bowl of chili.

//Though I'd dearly love to know what Sumner said in that dream.//

I'm pretty sure it was some version of "Thank God for that"; after all, if Sheppard had been what Sumner'd thought him, the expedition'd probably have been dead a dozen times over.

Thank you so much for commenting.

This was really cool. I like how alien the eartheners look through Ronon's eyes.

Thank you! I worked hard on a worldview for him.

I'm a sucker for any fic that fleshes Ronon out a bit, and this was just lovely. I enjoyed the traditions, and all of Ronon's mis-hearings and misunderstandings of various Earth customs.

Thank you!

Ronon's among the more difficult of the main cast for me to write, so I'm glad that this worked for you, and that my devised Satedan worldview was entertaining.
