What a beautiful, heartwrenching moment, love. One of those tiny, silent graces from a friend. I'm so glad John was there. As soon as you made the point, the horror of Rodney going there alone, unthinking, and then probably getting it as he walked in and saw Keller rose up in me.

If this had been video, I would have been whisper-yelling, "No, no, John go, run." and flapping my hands in distress. As it was, I can see the slope of Rodney's shoulders and the wounded look on his face and his rumpled clothes, the sorrow and concern on John's face, all the more raw the rare moment of letting someone see.

I like to think that later there were exhausted naps together that neither would actually call cuddling, because hell, they don't do that - but they'd end up squished together, taking comfort from warmth and closeness, and that's just what friends do, right? ;)

Yeah yeah! Sure!! Naps!! You should write more of this! I would write a snippet (and I'm trying to write a hand snippet) but I'm dain bramaged. So tired.
