Oh, cool. I mean, it's a horrifying concept, but brilliantly written. It's all the more horrific because of the lack of detail, the way all the alternate universes sort of blur together.

It's a peace offering, like cake.

Yeah, it weirds me out how so many SF writers can toss this AU-hopping stuff out there without the sense of disconnection and terror that I know I would feel in the characters' places. I'm glad it ended well for you, though.
