I feel sorry for the cat :(

But I think you're the first person who used a cake of soap and cattle cake in their response.
Good job

I feel sorry for the cat too, but needs must and all that, someone/thing had to die! Poor puss, poor Rodney too.

Ah, the wonder of dictionaries... suddenly the mind starts twisting and turning...

Thanks.

I loved how you went from the traditional cake to fishcakes, cattle cakes, etc. Very cool! Well done!

Thanks. When I read the entry and saw cattle cakes, I knew I just had to write something with that in! Mind you, part five was the hardest part to figure out!

Nice, original take on the challenge! I like how you've gone through so many different definitions of "cake", and come up with something unique for each one. And, of course, I'm not going to complain about a bit of Rodney whump. *g*

Thanks. The dictionary is my friend (sad, but true!), and Rodney whump is so much fun to write... Glad you enjoyed it!

I love the detail and the variety of all the different kinds of cakes and all the different incidents around them!

One thing: surely the Scots would have been making drop scones?

Thanks! Not sure about the Scots, to be honest. I thought it sounded better with the Brits doing Pancake Day rather than just the English doing it, as I know other parts of the UK celebrate it too. But if it's sounds wrong, then sorry. I guess I was so fixated on whether America, Canada, the Czech Repulic and other places had pancake day or not, that I forget to check closer to home.

I know Scots do drop scones (basically small and thick) because I'm part Scottish. Means I also know that Scots used to fry liver in flour but I haven't found a logical explanation for that yet! ;-)

Drop scones are on wikipedia

Or fried Mars bars... or even, I've heard, fried pizza!! *bg*

Looked them up. Yeah, sounds like they have drop scones for Shrove Tuesday, not pancakes as such. Oh well, maybe the Scottish contingent have some drop scones off to one side...! *sigh* My bad.
