It's possible that you need to be punished for "Sheppard's Pie." I'm just warning you. However, there was plenty of cake, no death, and sex, so I'm a happy girl.

The death was in the hardcore vegan joke! (Poor, doomed yeast.) *g*

OP: Delicious fic! Thank for sharing. :D

That's right! Millions of yeast died so Rodney could live.

(Sadly, that joke dates from my days working the college cafeteria line. It gets a lot less use since my slow-rise bread recipe works less well in Brooklyn than it did in the Midwest.)

I'm glad you enjoyed the story as well as the bad jokes. Or, no, wait, that you enjoyed the bad jokes as an INTEGRAL part of the narrative apparatus *g*.

So cute.

Also, I think I know that bakery. Or ones like it. Purest Park Slope (no matter where it really is.)

It doesn't actually exist, but given the gentrification pattern on Fourth, it'll be there any day! As a result, it ended up being a Platonic ideal of the Park Slope area bakery. Glad you enjoyed the depiction, and the story!

It is *so* Platonic Ideal.

(I'm at work in a real estate office on 7th Ave in Park Slope as I write this. There are three bakeries on this block alone.)

And they probably all have crappy, overpriced cupcakes!

I'm trying to figure out where your office is from the description -- I know the north part of the Slope the best, and I'm not coming up with more than one bakery per block up there. But if you're in the Union Street area, check out Cafe Mexicano on 4th - I've heard a rumor that it closed, but the menu's still up on the web, so I have to go check for myself. They don't actually have aguas frescas, but those tamales are indeed fantastic. *g*

Ha! I was just at the Bohemian Beer Garden on Saturday. Sadly, I did not see Radek. ;) Cute story!

Clearly, you weren't looking hard enough. *g*

I had to stop writing for a little while at that point because the desire for a beer and a grilled kielbasa was almost overwhelming.

Glad you enjoyed the story!
