I think you'd have to ask Jeannie, 'cause Rodney's never telling if he has any choice at all and I can think of far, far too many possible explanations to settle easily on one. Yeah, I've contemplated it. Maybe he took on some cafeteria duties in Siberia because it was the only way he could ensure he wasn't un/intentionally poisoned. Maybe his parents didn't ever make birthday cakes, or couldn't ever be bothered to remember. Maybe he learned during college; maybe he had some crush he was trying to impress; maybe he watched too many cooking shows; maybe someone brought 'Good Eats' DVDs to Atlantis-- high melodrama to boredom, there's a world of possibilities. I wouldn't have the faintest idea which to go with-- pick your favorite(s), make your own: either it's better left to the imagination or I'm too lazy and indecisive to settle on a single story, whichever explanation you like better. ^_

Actually, that hadn't occured to me... though I suppose strictly, to be Iron Chef, there'd have to be competitors, and there is definitely a story in that. oh dear god it could theoretically be a sequel. If that happens, I am totally blaming you. I don't know whether to hope it does or it doesn't... Heh ^^ The fact that I now know the dicing duties would have to be delegated to Ronon as a matter of course is a bad sign....
