I confess that "You're encouraging my recidivism," is totally my favorite line in the thing. Second place: "McKay was the king of roller disco." *g*

So glad you liked it! I took a few corners kinda fast to get it done in 2800 words, but it seems to have come out okay!

Count me in for a t-shirt!

Man, he'd gotten it wrong before, but never like this: Rodney looked hunted, like a cornered animal; like someone who'd been pushed way, way too far.

Oh, god yes. Poor Rodney sucks at this kind of thing and John, John isn't as good as he thinks he is and they're both so stupid and god, yes. Perfect :)

Rodney, man, did really really well not to strangle John in his bed or set the next ancient device to "Electrocute." *g* But John doesn't mean to be an idiot! He's just terrible at social things; he's a confused fifth grader underneath!

You are wonderful. Thank you! I was just taking a TEENY break from math homework, and was so pleased to find this on my flist.

Also, I don't know how you manage to pack so many emotional shifts in to one short story without ever once giving me the feeling of whiplash that sometimes happens when you are reading an emotional roller coaster, but whatever you are doing: don't stop.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the roller coaster (I took some of those turns kinda fast!) but it was last minute and I didn't want to hold the challenge any longer, so it was "strap yourself in!!"
