for about three paragraphs i was going 'it must have been teyla or elizabeth, and they only think her name is john!' because i'm so unused to genderswap in stargate fic, but then i definitely couldn't ignore it, and i just totally fell in love with it. and then i was worrying that maybe you had left all the angsty slash out of it, but you didn't, and i got mcshep before and after. i'm so happy!!!! *rueful grin* i was so confused until the very end, but i still enjoyed it. bravo!!! ^_____^

Hee! I'm so glad that the story ended working for you and am really pleased that you stayed with it even when it was a bit confusing. I wrote the first part and the_acrobat wrote the second part with Rodney POV, so I'm really happy that it all came together in the end! Thank you so much! ^_^

I love the culture of women that John has found, and I love that Rodney immediately knew John even when the others hasn't.

*flails about* Yours was my favourite comment, because a gender switch/anemsia where everything doesn't magically resolve at the end was one of our major concerns in writing this. ^_^ Creating the culture of women was a lot of fun too - the_acrobat and I based it on the Old Icelandic Free State (which had a minimal hierarchy) and then made it matriarchal instead of patriarchal. *g*

Anyway, I just want to say a resounding THANK YOU! and that we're both really glad you liked our story, including the part where Rodney found John and the one where John was found by the settlement. *grins*

Oh, I'm so glad you liked both the world and the structure of the story! If we were writing the story again, we might be in a bot more description of Shon're, but then again there's been a lot of sexswitch fic that has focused on what a female!John looks like already.
