I'm playing catch-up on my reading again...it's always cool to read about the secondary characters on Atlantis. Equally nice to see soldiers using deductive reasoning as well as knowing more than just 'shoot-kill'. Very nice story.

And I'm catching up on my responses... ^_^ Thank you. I still don't have as good a feel for the soldiers as I do for the scientists, so I'm testing the waters.

And while I'm sure that there are some soldiers out there whose critical faculties do not extend far beyond 'shoot-kill,' I cannot believe that they would be chosen for a mysterious exploratory/guardian expedition to another galaxy, which would seem to call for the best and the brightest of those you could afford to lose.

(Actually, someday I'm probably going to write the crossover where most of the younger Marines on Atlantis are survivors of a particular graduating class of an eponymous high school of a certain recently-obliterated fast-growing town in Southern California, and view much of their duty as "same shit, different galaxy...")

Buffy/Atlantis cross-over? Ooh, difficult and challenging to combine. But if you write it, I'll give it a try.

"Ooh, new creature. How do we kill it?"

Always like secondary character fic.
