I like it a lot. It's cool to see things from an alien culture's perspective.

The thought that prompted this entire fic could be summarized in the line: "I'm not the team whore!" Poor Rodney; I just love to beat on him...

Thanks for writing!

Very interesting take on how Ronon might have perceived things early on. I loved how Rodney kept freaking out over each misconception, but then went back and tried to explain why it was dangerous or inappropriate.

Whoa, help, I'm under your power...! What a fun icon!

Hey, I never even realized that, thanks! Now that you mention it, I do love Rodney in 'teacher' mode, where he bashes his student's idiocy, but I do think he likes people to understand things, and he cares about his team.

Yes! And I also detected an undercurrent (possibly merely my interpretation) of Rodney feeling a need to protect both Sheppard and Ronon from the repercussions that could result from casual mentions of military sexual "improprieties."

oh yes, definitely! Rodney in my head has a stubbornly uneradicatable protective streak (which conflicts with his self-preservation at times), particularly for those people he considers 'with him'. At the very least, he'd want to protect fellow members of the human population in the spirit of, let's keep all the idiots from hurting themselves.

Thanks! When I think about Ronon's culture, I tend to see it as very militaristic -- just like how Teyla and her people have this boiling hate for the Wraith, except Ronon's people have a lot bigger guns to fight back with. I can really see Ronon being confused by the Atlantis 'expedition', which seems to have these awesome weapons available, and yet the members of the expedition are not about going out there and exterminating Wraith. He does get used to it, though, apparently. I can see a lot of difference in his treatment of McKay between "Condemned" and "Epiphany". :)
