I *love* this. Sexy and poignant and romantic and wow. I love the construction of it, the way his relationship with Kell was entirely different from his relationship with John, but the sense of joy, and of being better than your ordinary self, was exactly the same. The team banter was priceless. Thanks for gettting this in under the wire of the challenge!

Oh, wow. I love this. Love the whole idea of being changed, but no one can see it. And the glimpses we got of Ronon and John's first time . . . whew, gorgeous.

I'm just so pleased you liked it. And the whole impetus of this fic was just what strikes me about the whole notion of virginity: that something huge happens and no one can tell.

I also wanted to see what it was like with Ronon trying to figure John out, what sense he makes out of John's first experience with a man. It's hard to do because Ronon isn't all that articulate.

And Ronon may not be articulate, but I love the way you found to make him expressive. I could really hear his voice in it, feeling the lightning.

Oh, and now that I've reread it, one of my new favorite lines was this one: how, when they were done, he'd played at control, saying lightly, "That wasn't so hard. Can we do that again?"

See, John is a big old faker. I can see the first time they fucked, I can just see it, and John was all hot but kind of freaked out, and trying not to be freaked out, because, you know, Ronon. So when they're done, John would be...relieved. Sex with men? It's just sex. He gets sex.

There's a whole huge backstory in my head, obviously.

I enjoyed this very much. I especially like all the little snips of Ronon with Kell and Sheppard, and how different those experiences are. There should be more Sheppard/Dex, yes. Thank you for sharing this!

Wow, this was gorgeous -- Ronon's memories of Kell and training morphing into Sheppard practicing with the kids, the team banter, Ronon trying to understand the feeling of change, the similarities/differences with Sheppard, lightning joy. Guh. Really, really nice.

Why, thank you! I was really going for body emotion, the way you remember something and then feel it physically. And of course it has to be Ronon (and not, say, McKay) thinking all this, because he's not all that verbal. He's a physical kind of guy. And I love him for it--though it makes it hard for him to write, I think.

This was fantastic. I love Sheppard/Dex and I'm always excited when I see it. I liked the use of Ronon's POV here. It kind of emphasized his otherness--how he's coming to all of this from a different set of experiences. Most obviously that he's experienced with men and John isn't, but also in terms of what that meant in his culture and how it has shaped him. I liked how they were kind of in their own world unrecognized by everyone else, because on the show it often does feel like that. They just seem to get each other in ways that seems unique to those two.

I also have a thing for John playing with the Athosian kids, so I liked that note as well, and the team banter was fantastic.

Glad you liked; and there certainly isn't enough Dex/Shep out there, if you ask me. Of course, I've been out of the loop lately.

I too love how they get each other. Yet there are also these weird moments of disconnect, as when Ronon notes to someone (I think Teyla?) that he doesn't know when to disobey Sheppard on a mission, and when not to. Hee! Feeling out protocols.

I like the Athosian kids too. That Teyla is a hard taskmaster, making them meditate!
