Summary: 300 words. Plot-free team scene.

By Rodney's count, Sheppard has said, "This does not go in the mission reports, okay?" thirty-two times during offworld missions. Number thirty-three comes when a friendly and smiling and very materially poor people give them the use of a hut for the night. The hut, and one blanket. It's chilly out, and Sheppard says it, and they all lie down, neatly parallel and respectable, and sweep the blanket over themselves.

Rodney wakes up in the middle of the night to the scent of flowers, and for a moment he thinks he's still in a dream--lying in a warm summer's-night field, flowers and the sounds of whirring bugs and frogs. He catches the faint scent again and realizes it's Teyla, her head now at his shoulder, her hair smelling like something that isn't the boring regulation shampoo the rest of them use. Rodney wonders what her source is.

On his other side, Sheppard's snoring quietly into Rodney's lapel (which is where the bullfrog sounds must have been coming from), one arm across Rodney's middle, his hand loosely curled at Teyla's waist.

Over the top of Teyla's head, Rodney can see Ronon, and he realizes that for all of their overnight missions, he's never before seen Ronon sleep: he looks young and peaceful. Ronon's clutching Teyla like a teddy bear, and his other arm is heavy across Rodney, hand on Sheppard's forearm.

Rodney should feel claustrophobic like this, should be fidgeting to get out, but really all he feels is cozy, warm bodies a counterpoint to the frosty air above the blanket. One arm's beginning to fall asleep, so he shifts it carefully to curl over Sheppard's back, and turns his head back to the warmth and the scent of flowers, and lets his eyes drift closed.
