Really, really awesome. My favourite line:

There's the familiar rustling and coughing as people get comfortable and go silent, and then a single violin plays the tense opening notes of the Beethoven, and beside him, Sheppard drops his hands onto the armrests of his red velvet chair, and closes his eyes, and Rodney half-expects the theatre to light up.

*grins* Yeah, that was mine too. I was trying to use that as my quote in my del icio feed and sadly, too long. *grins* Still, perfect line.

I... *heart* this. This is now officially my favorite "on earth" story. The settings are crisp and vividly described. The relationship progresses at just the right speed and I love the steps they both take, the ways they're silently trying to understand each other and speak to each other.

Really a fantastic read. Thanks.

Funny, sweet, insane and ridiculously enjoyable, because wow, John, and his and Rodney's friendship... *flails happily*

Oh, that was sweet. And funny. Just marvelous. I also liked the bits with poor Elizabeth, desperately trying to salvage her relationship with Simon, poor thing.

Anyway, did you know that Phelan was also Doug Flutie's roommate? Heh.

Thanks for sharing this, it was just a wonderful pick-me-up.
