Mmmm. So hot. I love Rodney being pulled deeper into John (literally and figuratively) and being afraid of where he may take him, but being unwilling to stop. And the idea of what they do at night and how they act in the day--like nothing is diff. and everything is the same--is chilling. And Rodney being so tempted to deliver on what he promises and knowing that John wouldn't stop him--even if he went too far. Guh.
Thank you! It means a lot to me that you liked this, because it was incredibly difficult to write. I usually identify very strongly with Rodney, and to make this believable I had to find a way to understand how he could want this relationship.
I find the dynamic change in John's personality and perceptions between the first story and the sequel to be very interesting. I'm wondering how often, if ever, you have someone who's so interested in metting out the pain finding themselves immersed in, and satisfied with, the other end of the D/s relationship. His character has such a shift between the stories, I really do think there has to be another story dealing with John's change. And while that's not a plea for another sequel, I certainly would love to see it done. ;)
I had to go back and reread magus_minor's trilogy very carefully, and I got the impression that John does what he has to do...and often enjoys it along the way. I also concluded that *being the one who metes out the pain* was not the kicker for him. *Observing* was. After all, the thing he found most satisfying was *watching* the video file of Rodney being tortured

Sheppard, of course, is just twisted (LOL).

Oh, he is. So wonderfully fucked up and pulling Rodney deeper and deeper into his psychosis.
