Meep!

Action and adventure and suspense (and irony)! This was great and just what I needed to recover from yesterday's premiere.

Thank you for sharing. :)

Yeah, I felt a bit of a silly romp would be a good kind of recovery! Well, actually, it all came to me when I was hitting the crackpipe and things just rolled from there. ::click... ahhhh:::

Hee. Good fanfiction makes everything better and I am not addicted, of course I am not! Truly. :)

Still, I really liked how in character they all were in spite of the fairytale/medieval setting: Ford was especially good because in the series we do not get enough insight into his character, so an intelligent extrapolation like yours is very welcome.

You also showed Teyla as the calm, rational and understadning one which is why I like her character and the McShep vibes were subtly done, which is my favorite kind of McShep vibes!

You realize that now I'm going to start expecting more nice SGA fics from you, long or short... Fluffy with teeth, angsty, all action/adventure, it's all good when it is so well done.

*waiting patiently for more*

Well, I'm hoping for more from myself too! But my, what should I call it - muse, inspiration, mojo - has always been a bit unpredictable. It's been limp and useless for years, now it's like I got some writer's viagra and I'm all, um, tumescent again. But I am afraid to jinx it!

Yeah, I'm all about the 'hey, cool, I'm writing fluffy fun-- oops, bullet in the brain!' How it goes.

Ooooh, man, I adored this! I loved getting those glimpses of Rodney's experience through the secondhand accounts; it was so easy to envision Rodney as the Slave from Hell. *g* I also loved that the story was told from Ford's perspective; seeing John's reactions through his eyes worked really, really well. The scene when John killed the robber was especially chilling and effective, I thought-but really, I absolutely loved all of it. What a fantastic take on this challenge! :-)

It was really more of a, 'now I envision knights... why would they be knights?' kind of deal, so I guess I cheated a bit. True to the letter, if not the spirit of the rule. But hey, whatever makes the story happen, I imagine. And for POV, I like the outsider's perspective, the half-truth it brings, it's a lovely device that I keep returning to at least once in every fandom.

Sir Robin the Brave. where's the traveling minstrel to sing his praises? *g*

Great characterization of John here -- people really should know better than to mess with that boy. And your Ford voice was excellent. Rodney really would be the worst slave ever, wouldn't he?

Thanks very much for posting this now -- as fenris_wolf0 said, it was a wonderful palate cleanser after the premiere last night.

I didn't think I could get away with actual singing... Knights, yes. Minstrels, not so much.

And my favourite John is the NoMercy!John. So. Indulging myself a bit. Ladida. My palate is definitely cleansed!
