Title: Precipice Author: thegrrrl2002 Challenge: Dangling Pairing: Sheppard/McKay Summary: Sometimes the edge just grabs you and pulls you over when you least expect it.
I want them to be better now! Now! And, yes, I do realize that sound bratty. Lovely story. Lovely eyelashes. It had me shivering, 'cause I'm afraid of heights.
Thank you! I couldn't resist putting in that bit about the eyelashes. *g*
Oh, I don't like heights at all, either. I got the willies just imagining their situation. And, as Rodney says, it's really just a healthy sense of self-preservation. There is no need to be looking down over railings like that.
Absolutely no need at all, indeed! Do you know the Dome of Cologne? In Germany? It's around my corner, and every single schoolyear we just had to climb it. Grmmblmumble. And when one finally reaches the top of the thousands and thousands of stairs *pantpant and not in a good way* one is kind of forced to look down all those meters one climbed. *swoon* Aynway, am still smitten by your description of their eyes. :)
I googled it up, and gosh, it's beautiful! How cool to live near such a thing! But um, yeah, I understand about the climbing. When I was a kid we visited the Statue of Liberty, and climbed up her crown. Eeep! The torch was closed at the time, thank goodness. Those kinds of climbs always seem like a good idea at first, but then I get to the top and I'm all nervous and scared.
Glad you liked it! I think they need to stare into each other's eyes on the show. Yup, that's what they need to do. Although the sheer sparkage might fry the camera circuits. *g*
I love the description of the apartment. As a NYer, real estate is, well, I have to say, I was surprised there wasn't more real estate smut during the Explore the City Challenge.
Forget how many inches. The important question is how many square feet!
Oh yes, real estate smut. I so hear you. I figure John would be into it, too, especially since he thought up that very gay elaborate apartment in "Home". Complete with bowls of fruit. Come on, how many guys would come up with that? *g*
John knew Rodney just needed something to focus on.
Actually, just having watched TDO, that's exactly what John does with Gaul. Well, without the right in the face thing, 'cause that would have been weird. But he's good with people in a crisis. Kudos to you.
John totally rocks with people in a crisis--even in "38 Min," he gets Rodney to focus, with a giant freaking bug killing him. Ford does pretty well too in that one, though it's evident in "The Storm/The Eye" with Carson that the lesson didn't stick. *g*

And the 'fascination with John' thing, too.
I'm feeling the need for a fruit based fic, though. All the cool kids are doing it! Wah!!
