Oh, excellent! I am just starting my foray into SGA fic with a flashfic I'm almost finished with, and I'd love to tap you if you have time to look at it for me! I have a few things I'm curious about whether they work, as well as the usual 'did I skip a word somewhere' sort of look-over.

It's mildly McShep atm (might get more a bit later? Not sure how close it is to done, one hour or three, if that makes sense), probably a PG-13 at best. Very much with the humor. I suppose the wording might count as crackfic, but I'm new, so I can't tell where the line is drawn in SGA. In some fandoms, it'd be crack just for the wording.

To tempt, an excerpt:

"Rodney, unless you want to give me pointers on how to survive a near-drowning experience, I would appreciate it if you would get me out of this room at your earliest convenience," John growled into his radio, knowing it was useless but needing to say something anyway. It wasn't like the radio was going to somehow spontaneously work after forty-five minutes, after all ( ... )

Ever since your name on LJ started popping up I've been meaning to say hi, but my life has been a runaway train for the past... well, I was going to say few months but it's been more than that. You just get into SGA?

Anyways, I's lookin fer a beta and since I recall you bin a good'un... you interested agin? Before you say anything, recall how damn prolific I usually am (I say usually since I haven't actually finished anything since the back issue started)...

I appreciate the hello at any time!

Mmm, David got me into SGA in March of last year (which seems odd that it's only been about a year since I've written McShep, vidded Carson, done episode commentary for all of Season Four, pimped people into SGA, and run the awesomehewletts community...David Hewlett has power!)

I's lookin fer a beta and since I recall you bin a good'un... you interested agin?

Sure! I love longer pieces. I just finished 2 SGA betas that were around 60 pages apiece and I'm currently working on a third of the same length. Woo! Fun times :D Shoot me an email and we'll set that right up.

I has sent da fic to yer yahoo account. I haven't even seen that community... and of course, that's just what I need, yet another terrific community to take my attention... so many stories, so little time!

I'm seeking a beta for a McKay/Sheppard humor piece. It does refer to Sheppard/Zelenka as a past one-time pairing, but the story is definitely focused on McKay and Sheppard. It's about 5,000 words, adult-only for explicit sexual content. If you're interested, I've posted it at my LJ here:

http://dmarley.livejournal.com/63953.html

If you decide you'd like to beta the story, let me know. I can also e-mail the story if you'd prefer to work that way.

I'll also mention that there's no rush for comments. I've advertised a couple of other places for betas and have put out March 21st or so as a kind of arbitrary turnaround date (just to give me a point where I know I can start revising without waiting for more comments). If you do decide you'd like to beta the story, any time before the end of March would be fine with me.

Thanks!

I don't usually beta anything that's already been posted (since it might change dramatically from the first draft), but if you wanna email it to me I'll take a look :)

Thank you very much! I've sent the story pasted into an e-mail. Please let me know if anything goes wonky.

I had a vague idea that if I posted the story just to my LJ it would make it easier for beta readers to access and also would allow me to get some feedback from my (very small) friends list before I revised it and sent it out into the wider world of communities and archives. In retrospect, not one of my best ideas, especially if I end up (as I have in the past) completely re-writing it three or four times. Live and learn, I suppose. :)

I really appreciate you taking the time to look it over. Thanks again.

It said in your beta profile that you would be willing to do crossovers. I'm hoping that you would be able to beta an SGA/Sarah Connor Chronicles Xover. If you haven't seen the Sarah Connor Chronicles, please let me know so I can keep asking around. Thanks in advance. Here's my request ( ... )

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the Sarah Connor Chronicles (canon). Good luck in your search!

Thank you anyway. I did end up finding a beta who's familiar with it, so it's cool.
