Welcome to the 2013 SGA Secret Art Santa!
This is how it works:
1. You make a request for some art, outlining the kinds of things you like, & at the same time offer to be an artist.
2. You are assigned a recipient & given their 'wishlist'.
3. You make something for your recipient (trying to include at least one thing from their list).
4. You submit your art to the mod.
5. The art is posted anonymously for you & everyone else to enjoy. \0/
6. A big reveal of ‘who made what for who’ is posted for a final round of squee & thank yous. :)
Please remember - this is a gift exchange, so if you post a wish then you will be expected to give a gift in return. :)
Some FAQs:
What does ‘art’ mean?
Graphics (wallpapers, headers, larger graphical pieces, cover art for stories, etc), drawings, icons, fan mixes and song vids. Sorry, this is not a story exchange. Check out the wonderful
sga_santa if you're interested in writing.
What kinds of media are acceptable?
Digital art and drawings, digital manipulation (combining elements from different source images), vidding, fan mixes and traditional hand-drawn pieces.
How much do I need to make?
You're only required to make one thing - graphical piece, wallpaper, fanmix, song vid, etc. The exception being if you're making icons - just one would seem a bit mean *g* & so a set would be more appropriate. Obviously, if you'd like to make more for your recipient then that's absolutely fine - but one thoughtfully made gift is all that you need. :)
Do I have to make anything else?
Just a 'teaser' image please of dimensions 300 x 200 pixels (width x height) to accompany your art. (Only one teaser is needed, even if you're submitting multiple pieces.)
How do I submit my art?
Just attach your art & teaser to your submission email - there's no need to upload it anywhere first. If, however, you're making a fanmix or song vid, please email me first to arrange submission (as that would be too big to be an attachment.) Full instructions will be sent in the assignment email.
(You will need to join the comm to post your wishlist.)
The wishlist format:
LJ user name: your user name
Email address: If you’d prefer not to include it here then please send it, along with your lj user name, to sga.artexchange @ googlemail.com
Things I’d like: This is your chance to tell your artist what you like, so don’t be shy - the more information you give here, the easier it is for your artist to choose. And if you’d like a specific pairing, or character, or gen, then please say here. (Please be polite - no character, pairing or medium bashing.)
What I can do: This is the kind of art and the pairings or genre (slash, het, gen) that you can offer.
What I can’t do: Please be specific if there’s something you absolutely can’t do e.g. a particular genre, or pairing, etc. (This will make assigning artists and recipients a lot easier.)
Please tag your request as 'wishlist'.
Please post your wishlist as a new post - not as a comment here.
