Hey, guys? Given LJ's latest fail wrt gender, we're going to start giving rarepairings participants a choice between posting here and posting at sg_rarepairings on Dreamwidth. The master list will be posted on and encompass both sites

Um. My co-mod is probably still at work in her time zone, so we haven't discussed that yet! But if you want to post at both, feel free, and we'll just link both in the master list, and then we'll make an official crossposting policy once we get a chance to email each other.

Oh yay! I'm really glad you're opening this up to Dreamwidth. Even with LJ back-pedaling, this whole thing leaves a really foul taste in my mouth. Ugh.

Honestly, I'm also on no_lj_ads (or whatever it's called), and they've been removing ad guidelines and such things too. :( All in all, it seems to me LJ is becoming more and more commercial-interest friendly. I know people may disagree with me, and I don't mind that (obviously), but it bothers me.

Even if LJ is backpedaling, well, it bugs me. I know some people don't think the latest fail is a big deal, but most people who aren't cisgendered do think it's a big deal, and I think that they'd be the authority on whether it's a big deal or not. (Frankly, IMO, it's a big deal when having "unspecified" and "other" is an easy as pie way to make other people feel included, and then LJ tries to take away the one non-binary option they've formerly had.)

I know people who are die hard sticking with LJ, and I'm totally invested in making sure that the LJ people have a place to go too when I run a ficathon, but I think if I run fannish challenges from now on, they're going to be run concurrently on both sites.

(Also, if we do Dreamwidth, I can use MORE ICONS. I have 200 more icons there than I do at LJ. Though we should probably confab and come up with crossposting rules.)
