Well Met at Midnight (PG)

A somewhat belated happiest of birthdays to abyssinia4077, co-mod and all-around wonderful person!

I regret to report that last year's birthday fic for Abyssis is still unfinished. Under the circumstances, the very least I can do is write fic for her icon prompt.

Jonas Quinn dreams of Daniel Jackson, or maybe he doesn't. A little bit of angst set just before ( Read more... )

"I would've liked the chance to get to know you better," Jonas finally offers.

Whee! I always wished there had been more interaction between Jonas and Daniel--they had a surprising amount of working chemistry together--though, of course, their positions make those interactions very rarely possible. Thanks for this lovely conversation :)

Yes, there are a lot of people out there who feel that of all the characters on SG-1, CN had the most working chemistry with MS. Ironic, that. :) OTOH, now that I've fainlly seen S6, I think he and CJ make a pretty good pair, too.

Glad you liked this rather surreal conversation! :)

This is so awesome -- clean and fresh and true. And I just adore this passage:

He turns back in time to see the deadly beauty of the event horizon lash out in his direction, frothing entropy before settling back into cool blue serenity. He can't help but notice that despite the bright, shimmering light of the open Stargate before him, Doctor Jackson's shadow is cast in his direction, stretching over him. Jonas supposes that shadow will always dim everything he might say or do with the enormity of Jackson's presence... or absence.

...frothing entropy before settling back into cool blue serenity....

Makes me want to pick up you and your words and hug them close. This comes under 'should have been' moments.

Thank you so much. :) I'm glad that passage worked - I'm rather fond of it myself!

"Should have been" is a very lovely compliment. :)

::hugs you back::

Poignant, ethereal, and sad. And hopeful.

Loved it!

That was breathtakingly beautiful and very true to character. I wish Daniel and Jonas had got that time to get to know each other and perhaps work toegher as well.

Thank you! :) I, too, wish Jonas and Daniel could've had more time to work together. Glad you liked it!
