Chilling. I'm glad I know what happens next, or I'd be really depressed. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

(Couple of minor corrections: early on you have "Samuel" for "Samuels" and, near the end "Abydos is glowly" for "Abydos is glowy". Just got off teaching for the day!)
