They could hardly take them with them at the time, although I did try to work out a reference! Let's just assume there were plenty of slaves and whatnot left around... including the lions' regular handlers, who took care of them. Will that do? :)

I love the Jaffa when Sekhmet questions him with this whole internal dialogue you can just picture from Jack watching him. "Yeah, he's the leader. We know he's the leader, er, we think. They all acted like he was...um...yeah. Don't hurt me."
